Installations and Micro Installations

I’ve been falling in love with installations. Been trying to come up with an idea for working sculpturally in micro installations. I’m still not sure what that looks like, I'm thinking suspended pieces of some kind. Everything has to be neat, simple, put together. I can even toss in some type of lighting or a play on lighting. I’d want to work geometrically, abstract. Weight would be an issue. So would working within the confines of my apartment. Thats my problem sometimes, im too practical. Limitations can be liberating, but also confining. I’m constantly trying to evolve my art, my style, never fully satisfied with the way a piece turns out, but learning to not care. Learning to chase to perfection, but be okay with falling short. Okay with just learning the skill. In my pursuit of perfection, the unknown, ive stumbled onto the world of installations. I love them. Love the fact that art can be temporary. That art is possibly an expression of an idea. The objectification of one. I’ve started to dabble in my own forms of temporary micro installation but now want to work sculpturally. (Top two photos taken at random restaurants in Austin, TX).
