Karma
Karma
This piece is rooted in the idea of karma—not just as something that comes back around, but something you live through in real time. A few years ago, I hit what most would call rock bottom. I was broke, living in a rough spot, and figuring life out day by day. But somehow, I felt calm—almost at peace.
My apartment sat next to an Islamic Cultural Center, in a neighborhood full of people who looked, spoke, and believed differently than I did. My porch faced the center, and my smoke breaks often lined up with the call to prayer. At the same time, I was doing my own kind of meditation—quiet moments to reflect, to feel, to reset.
That strange overlap left a mark. I began to see myself—God, struggle, healing—through a new lens. Karma stopped feeling like punishment or reward and started to feel more like presence. A rhythm. A mirror.
Constructed of galvanized steel wire, aluminum sheet metal, repurposed materials and various paints.
Dimensions - 21.5”Hx19.5”Wx5”D
